Hello,

I'm Tom, I am the owner and instructor of ForcesFit. I have been solely running ForcesFit for 4 years now and have enjoyed every moment. In 2019 I completed my qualification as a Level 3 Personal Trainer and I am half way through my degree in Sports Coach and Management. Throughout my time in running ForcesFit,  I have taken some people who couldn't do a sit up or run more than 20m a few years back, to last year climbing Mount Snowdon which is an incredible achievement. Not just for themselves but as a instructor. I have also took people of all ages past their own limits to tackle the worlds hardest obstacle course, not only once but back year after year. My biggest personal achievement is completing the Thames path challenge. Where I had to complete 100km in 24 hours, which tested me to my physical and mental limits. From this I have gained the understanding and knowledge of what it takes to push yourself to your limits and what is required to really keep going when things get hard. I have shown people the skills and mental strength to take yourself to that next level.

During my relatively short career I have been nominated for several awards including twice for veterans fitness awards 2020 and 2021, I also got nominated for south west fitness instructor 2021 coming in the top 10 in the south west. I am very lucky to have won new business of the year 2021 in Sherborne and won the pride of Yeovil award 2022. I am incredibly proud to have not just been nominated but to won some already.

As well as being a fitness instructor I organise events to help push people out of their comfort zones, these are a great part of my job which I take great pride in. I have taken large groups up mountains, across obstacle courses, kayaking and also mountain biking. I have used my previous experience to set up military experience days. This is all in an effort to take people put of their comfort zones and show them what they can achieve when given opportunities. I take on all these events with everyone as believe that you should never ask anyone to do anything that I wouldn't be willing to do myself.

I Value myself highly in helping promote a positive attitude towards fitness, but I also like to help massively towards peoples mental health and giving them the tools to help see what they can achieve when encouraged. In my bootcamps and personal sessions, I am open and honest and give people that space to allow them to be themselves. I listen to what they really want to achieve and help them reach their goals.

My Story

Before Forces Fit I served in the military for 12 years seeing many places and completing two tours of Iraq and Afghanistan. From there I decided I wanted a career change to spend more time in my home town of Yeovil. After attending many fitness classes and multiple gyms myself. I found that there were no fitness classes for normal people, a place where you can go with no experience, no fitness and not feel judged. That is when ForcesFit was born. I wanted to create a place, a community, where you can feel supported and capable of anything when at ForcesFit. I didn't want it to stop there, throughout my time in the Army I was lucky to have so many opportunities for adventurous training and wanted to bring that opportunity to people to experience.

We have been going for 4 years now and still love what I do,  in that time we have gone all over the uk taking on challenges, completed various charity tasks with our bootcamp members and achieving so much out of a normal fitness class. We have had up to over 100 people a week train with us in all weather conditions and we continue to grow as a fitness community. From an idea that I once dreamt of, to now training so many people, we have come so far and we will never stop helping people who want to make a difference.
